Don't judge this basket only on it's size, every ingredient was organic goodness. Even though organic produce and products are steadily gaining popularity, it is still difficult to find an all-organic basket. The Muir Grande Christmas Crate had a nice variety of tasty gourmet items and fruit. The trail mix was particularly good and the little fruit gels were corn syrup free and very tasty.

FRUIT

 

One Granny Smith & One Fuji Apple - Both apples were in really good shape and were very flavorful. The fruit was smaller than the typical non-organic apples you find in the grocery store. We cut the fruit in half so you could se it was not bruised and the flesh was a creamy white color.

One Organic Navel Orange - Even though it was a little smaller than your typical Navel but the skin wasn't thick and spongy like store-bough navels either. It was a nice sweet orange, free of pesticides and fertilizers.

Three yellow Bartlett pears and one red bartlett pear - They were all in really nice shape and ready to eat. Most shippers send you pears pretty under ripe so they don't bruise but since these were coming all the way from the west coast to the east coast they likely had time to ripen on the trip.

SWEET GOURMET

 

Organic Sweets - Normally I'm not a fan of those little fruit jelly slices but these were actually quite good. No corn syrup, in fact the ingredients included things like evaporated cane juice, tapioca syrup and for coloring black carrot juice and turmeric. Very fresh and had a nice chewy texture. The chocolate covered almonds tasted the same as the non organic variety we are used to seeing in fruit baskets and the sugar cookie was just cute. The frosting was stiff but the cookie was soft and almondy.

SAVORY GOURMET

 

Savory Organic - The trail mix was very light and tasty - almonds, dried apples, pepitas, cranberries, peanuts, dark chocolate chips, sunflower seeds and raisins - all organic ingredients. The yogurt covered pretzels aren't as sweet as the ones you may be used to and the coating is a little thinner and honestly a little tangier. The salted cashews tasted fresher than normal and not as oily or salty either.
