Chocolate and caramel lovers looking for satisfaction, look no further. Mrs. Prindables apples are covered in rich, thick caramel and chocolate. This basket is hard to compare to others because it is the only one we reviewed like it. In terms of fruit quantity there were only four apples, not too impressive, but what those apples were covered in was to-die-for decadent so we'll forgive them.

Four Granny Smith Apples Underneath It All- Sometimes when you get caramel covered apples the apples are totally trashy because the company that made them hoped you wouldn't notice under the layers of corn syrup and chocolate. This is not the case with Mrs.Prindables. The apples were in very good shape, firm and tart Granny Smiths. The apples were not bruised and the cores were not mushy.

Triple Chocolate Apples - One jumbo and one petite apple were smothered in thick layers of dark,milk and white chocolate. When they say jumbo they mean jumbo, you have to cut them to eat them. The covered jumbo apples are roughly 5 inches tall. The chocolate they covered them with was smooth and melty.

Milk Chocolate Walnut Pecan Apples - These were my favorite. The walnuts and Pecans went so well with the tart apple and sweet creamy milk chocolate.

SWEET GOURMET

 

Three Caramel Flavors - This is a caramel-lover's basket, caramel and chocolate. All the caramel in the basket is rich and creamy and straight from their aged copper kettles. The three flavors of caramel in the Premium Signature Basket were apple, vanilla and chocolate. I especially liked the chocolate caramels, they were dark and had the most intense flavor of them all. The apple flavored caramels reminded me of a softer, gooey, nicer version of Cow Tales. The vanilla caramel was smooth and would go well with a lot of other flavors.

Extra Confections - Also included in the basket was a nice gold box of truffles. This was a bit of a misnomer. They were really just the caramels that covered the apples coated with the same chocolate that covered the apples. The Milk Chocolate Pecan Nut Cluster was a glob of caramel covered in pecans and chocolate, basically the chocolate nut apple minus the apple.

Classic Pretzel Rods - The pretzel-rod dipped-in-chocolate-and-covered-with-candy trend really picked up a few years ago so these aren't as much of a novelty anymore but they were tasty. The pretzels with chocolate and peanut butter were especially good.
